PeriProducer 2.3 Programming for the Nortel / Periphonics VPS/is Platform
This 4-day intensive programming course is a hands-on course intended for the application developer with a programming background who is new to PeriProducer and the VPS/is platform.
Students gain practical experience by writing, testing and debugging programming assignments during class.
This course will include the following:
- Introduction to the VPS/is
- PeriProducer application development using DTMF touchtone input and prerecorded vocabulary prompting
- Basic PeriProducer topics will include:
- Menus
- Receiving and storing caller input
- Decision making and computation
- Looping
- Prompting
- Error handling
- Setting environment parameters
- Modularizing with Containers
- Advanced PeriProducer topics will include:
- Linked applications and DNIS driver applications
- Reusable subroutines in PeriProducer
- Shared memory
- File access from PeriProducer: Text Files on the VPS/is
- Introduction to SQL rdbms interface from PeriProducer
- Introduction to Host Interfaces from PeriProducer
- Administration of PeriProducer Applications
- Running and terminating applications in production mode (tappman)
- Activating and maintaining vocabulary files for production (vshell)
- Debugging applications in production modes (amu)
- Directory Structure overview
- Basic UNIX commands
Duration: 4 days (the final day will not end early, please plan accordingly)
